Avera St Mary's Hospital is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Medical-Surgical unit. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice registered nurse, licensed physician, or other healthcare provider to deliver direct patient care and coordinate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Clinical Setting
You will work on a medical-surgical unit at Avera St Mary's Hospital, providing care to patients across the acute care spectrum.
Responsibilities
- Collect data and conduct focused nursing assessments of patient health status
- Participate with other healthcare providers in developing and modifying patient-centered healthcare plans
- Implement nursing interventions within the patient-centered healthcare plan
- Assist in evaluating patient responses to interventions
- Provide safe and effective nursing care rendered directly or indirectly
- Advocate for the best interests of patients
- Communicate and collaborate with patients and members of the healthcare team
- Assist with health counseling and patient teaching
- Delegate and assign nursing interventions to implement the plan of care
Schedule
This is a regular, full-time position with rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice at time of hire
- Ability to work the hours specified, including rotating shifts
- Adequate visual acuity to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds

Compensation and Bonuses
- Pay range: $27.00 - $38.75 per hour (actual pay rate dependent upon experience)
- Eligible for up to $7,500-$10,000 sign-on bonus
- Eligible for $1,500 relocation bonus
