We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing care in our facility. You will work under the direction and delegation of registered nurses, delivering individualized care to patients and families based on their specific needs. This role combines preventative, therapeutic, and rehabilitative nursing care with strong communication and collaboration across the healthcare team.
Schedule
- Nights: Full-time, 3 twelve-hour shifts or weekend package
- Evenings: Full-time or Part-time, 8-hour shifts

Responsibilities
- Utilize nursing knowledge and skills to safely implement preventative, therapeutic, and rehabilitative nursing care for assigned patients and families
- Perform delegated independent nursing functions using established procedures, policies, guidelines, and standards
- Administer medications accurately and observe patient response, documenting in the medical record
- Maintain and coordinate communication among residents, family members, staff, and physicians
- Provide timely and relevant shift reports with pertinent information for assigned patients
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care
- Utilize written and technology systems specific to patient conditions or disease
- Provide patient and family education using appropriate teaching methods including one-on-one instruction, group instruction, demonstration, and discussion
- Assist residents and family members with concern and empathy while respecting confidentiality and privacy
- Answer and refer telephone calls and inquiries to ensure accurate and timely communication
- Maintain regular attendance to perform job duties
- Contribute to a positive atmosphere for residents
- Follow instructions, complete daily assignments, and be proactive to change
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Completion of relevant state Board of Nursing approved program
- Current AHA Healthcare Provider training (BCLS)
- State of Iowa LPN licensure by the Iowa Board of Nursing
- CPR certification
Additional Requirements
- LPN Supervisory Course required within 6 months of hire
