Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Emergency Department

Medstar Franklin Square is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the night shift in the Emergency Department. This is a 62-bed department with 18 fast track beds serving approximately 70,000 patients annually. The hospital is Magnet designated, a STEMI receiving center, and a Comprehensive Stroke Center with a dedicated Stroke Resuscitation team. You will care for patients of all ages with a wide variety of medical complaints, ranging from uncomplicated to highly complex conditions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families with needs ranging from uncomplicated to highly complex
• Identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations
• Critically analyze trends and changes in patient status
• Plan and implement appropriate interventions directly or through coordination with other nurses

Schedule

Full-time night shift position.

Required Qualifications

• LPN from an accredited School of Nursing
• Active Maryland LPN license or active Compact State LPN license
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification
• One year of acute care clinical nursing experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior acute care clinical nursing experience
• Emergency Department technician experience (new graduate LPNs with ED tech experience will be considered)

Compensation

Hiring range: USD $25.84 - USD $38.58 per hour.
