The opportunity

Job Description

Sanford Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Dermatology Clinic at the Talley Building in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In this ambulatory nursing role, you will provide quality, holistic care to patients throughout their healthcare journey while working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Provider, or Physician. You will serve as the primary nurse for a provider within your scope of practice, building meaningful relationships with patients and ensuring they feel heard and supported.

Clinical Setting

This position is located in an outpatient dermatology clinic within one of the largest not-for-profit health systems in the United States. Sanford Health operates 224 clinic locations and 46 medical centers, managing 5.2 million outpatient and clinic visits annually.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of patients
  • Document thorough medical histories from patients
  • Contribute to patient assessments and administer medications or treatments as ordered
  • Provide technical support to healthcare professionals
  • Counsel patients and families, under the direction of a registered nurse, on prevention and treatment plans

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program
  • Current unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing Board or multi-state licensure privileges
  • Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications
  • If the position requires IV therapy/management skills in North Dakota: graduation from a Board-approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum, or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing

Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • 36 hours per week
  • Day shift
  • No nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts
