Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Columbia County Medical Center Nurse Access

Wellstar is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a fully remote position with Columbia County Medical Center Nurse Access. This role operates in a non-traditional clinical setting where patient care and interaction are delivered over the telephone or via secure messaging. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team providing individualized, high-quality, safe, and timely patient care to patients, families, and significant others.

Clinical Setting

This is a fully remote position. Patient care and interaction are delivered over the telephone or via secure messaging rather than in a physical healthcare facility. You will work under the leadership of a nurse supervisor, nurse manager, or other nursing leader.

Responsibilities

• Manage medication refills
• Provide patient education
• Deliver pre- and post-procedure/surgery care
• Communicate patient results
• Support preventative care initiatives
• Deliver appropriate and timely patient care while working remotely
• Uphold the voice of the patient, system policies, and procedures
• Support service excellence goals
• Practice nursing in accordance with the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act
• Implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association

Required Qualifications

• Diploma in Practical Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of experience with direct patient care in any care setting
• Active LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a physician practice setting in a specific specialty area
• Minimum 1 year of experience with virtual care services (telehealth, triage, or other remote nursing functions)
• ARC-BLS (American Red Cross Basic Life Support) certification
• BLS-I (Basic Life Support - Instructor) certification
