Mercy Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Center for Pulmonary Care, located at the Lima Medical Office Building. In this role, you will deliver patient care under the direction of the physician, functioning as an integral part of the healthcare team to provide high-quality care in an outpatient clinical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assess patients for provider visits
  • Observe, record, and report patient responses to medical care provided during appointments
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to meet patient and family needs
  • Implement the plan of care by providing direct basic nursing care within the LPN scope of practice
  • Appropriately label and package specimens as trained
  • Assist in providing indirect care through clerical or administrative duties as assigned by the registered nurse
  • Act as a chaperone for healthcare providers during patient examinations as requested
  • Assist providers with procedures, treatments, and interventions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Active state Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure or LPN applicant status
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to patients of all ages
  • Ability to learn and use a computer-based patient appointment scheduling and registration system
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a team
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organization skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of clinical patient care experience
