Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Bedford Care Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing care to nursing home residents and supervise other LPNs and Nurse Aides in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
• Take and record vital signs
• Stock and prepare medication carts for rounds
• Chart residents' progress, ailments, medications, symptoms, incidents, and observations in medical records
• Schedule and provide treatments as recommended by the physician and at times convenient for residents
• Assist with resident activities of daily living (ADL) care as required
• Perform physical observations of residents and report findings to the RN Supervisor
• Receive and record physicians' orders in medical records and ensure compliance
• Communicate with other departments to meet residents' needs
• Assist with infection control monitoring and comply with Universal Precautions and Isolation Procedures
• Observe, monitor, instruct, and supervise Nurse Aides

Required Qualifications

• Active Practical Nursing License in good standing in the State of Mississippi

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in long-term care nursing
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing techniques and their relation to medical practices
• Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of long-term care
