Bedford Care Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing care to nursing home residents and supervise other LPNs and Nurse Aides in a long-term care setting.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
- Take and record vital signs
- Stock and prepare medication carts for rounds
- Chart residents' progress, ailments, medications, symptoms, incidents, and observations in medical records
- Schedule and provide treatments as recommended by the physician and at times convenient for residents
- Assist with resident activities of daily living (ADL) care as required
- Perform physical observations of residents and report findings to the RN Supervisor
- Receive and record physicians' orders in medical records and ensure compliance
- Communicate with other departments to meet residents' needs
- Assist with infection control monitoring and comply with Universal Precautions and Isolation Procedures
- Observe, monitor, instruct, and supervise Nurse Aides
Required Qualifications
- Active Practical Nursing License in good standing in the State of Mississippi
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in long-term care nursing
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing techniques and their relation to medical practices
- Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of long-term care
