Arbors at Oregon, one of Ohio's largest providers of long-term care skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation services, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to coordinate and provide nursing care for residents while supervising and guiding clinical staff members. This is an excellent opportunity for newly licensed graduates, experienced staff nurses, or those with intermediate experience to join a team that values contribution and fosters professional growth.
Clinical Setting
You will work in a long-term care skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation facility providing direct resident care and clinical leadership on the nursing unit.
Responsibilities
- Document resident conditions and nursing needs
- Accurately and promptly implement physicians' orders
- Assign nursing care to team members based on resident needs and staff capabilities and qualifications
- Supervise, direct, and evaluate junior staff members and CNAs
- Administer medications and perform treatments for assigned residents, with required documentation
- Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel
- Ensure supplies are utilized economically and equipment is maintained safely and cleanly
- Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents
- Coordinate nursing care when residents are scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments
- Interview applicants and recommend hires; participate in counseling, disciplinary action, and termination of staff as permitted by state practice act
- Supervise the nursing unit, including scheduling and directing nursing staff as permitted by state practice act
- Maintain inventory and supplies on the unit; communicate needs for housekeeping, maintenance, or dietary assistance
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited LPN/LVN school of nursing
- Valid LPN/LVN license in the state of employment
- Valid CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of nursing experience

- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, family members, and all levels of the organization
- Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations
- Knowledge of training techniques for clinical staff

Compensation and Benefits
Starting wages range from $30.00 to $39.00 per hour, with wage calculation based on experience and shift. New full-time employees receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus (limited time availability).
