Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)- Ambulatory, Seneca Medical Associates, FT, Day

Seneca Medical Associates is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide basic nursing care in a non-acute ambulatory patient setting. Working under the supervision of a provider and in collaboration with the care team, you will support patient care delivery in accordance with state nursing regulations and professional standards of care.

Clinical Setting

This position is based in an ambulatory care environment at Seneca Medical Associates, part of Prisma Health's Rural Health department. You will work in a non-acute outpatient setting providing direct patient support and care coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on individualized plans of care as delegated by the Registered Nurse or provider, addressing physical, emotional, cultural, spiritual, psychosocial, and educational needs
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and other patient care activities
• Arrange patient appointments for diagnostic testing, consultations, referrals, and hospital admissions
• Monitor and maintain stock of medical supplies and ensure proper functioning of equipment
• Document vital statistics and encounter data into patient charts; obtain brief medical history and chief complaint from patients
• Prepare exam rooms with appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment
• Clean exam rooms between exams and procedures
• Administer oral and injectable medications as directed by a provider and in accordance with approved nursing protocol
• Promote positive health behaviors and self-care skills through patient education
• Receive and screen clinically related telephone calls and messages; forward those requiring provider action
• Complete medical and physical history forms and related information for insurance companies
• Serve as a role model and participate in educating and mentoring care team members
• Attend department and organization meetings
• Complete annual and as-needed compliance training
• Maintain a clean, safe, and caring environment for patients, families, and staff
• Practice safe and efficient use of supplies and resources
• Assume responsibility for professional development and continuing education
• May serve as a preceptor, unit champion, or participate in shared governance
• Adhere to all organizational compliance, policies, and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an LPN program recognized by the State Board of Nursing, or program equivalency recognized by the State Board of Nursing
• Current LPN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State, or licensure to practice as an LPN in the state where you will be working
