Always Best Care Private Nursing is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide one-to-one patient care in clients' homes throughout the Greater Boston area. Working under the direction of a Director of Private Nursing or RN supervisor, you will apply the nursing process to deliver skilled care while making clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner.
Clinical Setting
This is a per-diem position providing private duty nursing care in residential settings. You will work independently in clients' homes while maintaining communication with supervising RNs and the care team.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to ongoing assessment of the client's health status and report findings to the RN
- Implement and document nursing interventions based on care plans developed by an RN
- Report signs and symptoms indicating physiological or psychosocial changes to the supervising RN promptly
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and authorized by an RN
- Reinforce teaching provided by RNs and providers, and offer guidance to patients and families consistent with established care plans
- Participate in collaboration with the care team to promote continuity of care
- Perform delegated tasks such as wound care, catheter care, and injection administration within LPN scope and based on individual training
- Communicate clearly and promptly with the RN or Director of Nursing regarding changes in condition or care needs
- Assist in oversight of CNAs, QMAPs, and non-certified personnel within scope and under RN direction
- Perform other duties as assigned within the LPN scope and under RN supervision
Required Qualifications
- Active LPN license in the state of Massachusetts
- Current BLS certification
- Access to reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in med-surg, home health, or private duty nursing
Clinical Skills
Skills needed depend on case and patient acuity level. Some skills may include:
- Wound care
- Feeding tube management
- Ostomy care
- Catheter care
- Injection therapy
Schedule
Per diem. You may pick up as little or as many shifts as you would like.
