AdviniaCare Orchard View in Riverside, RI is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise nursing assistants. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering hands-on care, managing medications, coordinating with physicians and families, and leading nursing personnel on your assigned unit or shift.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care to residents including feeding, bathing, dressing, and assisting with ambulation
  • Supervise resident meals
  • Arrange doctor's appointments as needed to maintain resident care outside the facility
  • Meet with family members to discuss resident concerns and care plans
  • Document all care provided in residents' medical records
  • Direct day-to-day functions of nursing assistants and provide leadership by example
  • Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician
  • Complete and file required record-keeping forms and chart nurse's notes clearly and descriptively
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with interdepartmental personnel
  • Monitor and supervise assigned personnel to ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Current unencumbered Rhode Island Licensed Practical Nurse license
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing care facilities
  • Current CPR Certification

  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday
  • Ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
  • Ability to function independently with flexibility and personal integrity
  • Ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies
  • Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet
  • Ability to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
