Licensed Practical Nurse, Lourdes Physician Group Float Clinic

Lourdes Physician Group is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Float Clinic. In this role, you will provide patient care following established standards and practices, assist physicians and nursing staff with daily patient care coordination, and help manage patient access and flow.

Responsibilities

• Triage patient calls using appropriate protocols and medical decision-making to determine appropriate care routing (Emergency Department, STEP IN clinic, or primary care physician)
• Answer telephone calls courteously, properly route calls, and chart information accurately in the EMR
• Take complete and accurate messages as required
• Coordinate patient flow, schedule appointments, procedures, tests, and referrals
• Assess medical and nursing care rendered by self and others within the practice, identifying areas for improvement and communicating findings to supervisors
• Use EMR triage protocols to guide appropriate patient care in accordance with all policies and procedures
• Complete all assigned nursing duties accurately and timely during scheduled shifts
• Assist in assessing patient health status and identifying problems to ensure quality patient care delivery
• Clearly explain therapies, tests, and treatments to patients and family members as necessary
• Maintain a comfortable, orderly, safe, clean, and private patient care environment
• Participate in orientation of new personnel as required
• Greet patients, family members, and visitors in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner
• Fill in and assist other office staff members during their absence or work overloads
• Serve as a preceptor for clinical staff as needed
• May lead and direct the work of others within scope of practice
• Take on other responsibilities as assigned by the organization

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program
• Current Louisiana License as LPN
• BLS Certification
