Intermountain Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our home health team in the Las Vegas area. In this role, you will deliver skilled nursing care to patients in their homes, working under the guidance of registered nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. You will perform a variety of delegated nursing tasks within your scope of practice, helping patients remain in the comfort of their own homes while receiving essential care.

Clinical Setting

You will work in home health care, visiting patients in their residences throughout the Las Vegas area. This setting allows you to build meaningful connections with patients and families while providing compassionate, skilled care in a familiar and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the admission and check-in process, assisting patients and families in understanding routines, rights, and the care setting
  • Complete necessary forms and documentation
  • Collect and record essential assessment data, including vital signs, height and weight, medication history, and billing details
  • Identify and respond appropriately to patient pain or discomfort
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) to promote comfort and independence
  • Prepare patients for medical or surgical interventions
  • Perform interventions within the LPN scope of practice
  • Support physicians and licensed independent practitioners with treatments and procedures
  • Obtain and track laboratory specimens (venipunctures, stool, urine) for analysis
  • Prepare, administer, and manage medications (oral, IM, SQ, rectal, intradermal) in accordance with protocols
  • Maintain supplies and ensure proper stocking and organization

Required Qualifications

  • Current LPN license in Nevada
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
  • Approved IV certification as required by facility
  • Clean driving record as required by facility
  • Ability to connect to the company's online database twice daily as required by facility

Additional Requirements

  • LPNs hired into hospital departments (excluding long-term care or behavioral health settings) must enroll and complete their RN within four years
  • You must be able to see and read information, labels, and assess patient needs; operate monitors; and identify equipment and supplies
  • Frequent verbal communication with patient care providers, patients, and visitors is required, including the ability to hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergencies
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers is needed to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer use and typing for documentation
  • You must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, bend to retrieve and carry supplies and equipment of varying weights up to and including heavy items
  • You will walk and assist with transporting and ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment, including pushing and pulling gurneys and portable equipment
  • You may be required to stand in a stationary position for extended periods
  • You are expected to drive a vehicle, which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting
  • One year of specialty clinic experience

Schedule

  • Full-time position, 40 hours per week
  • 9 AM to 5 PM shift

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly range: $26.74 to $41.28 (actual rate dependent upon experience)
