Greenville Care Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our long-term care team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will provide direct nursing care to residents, supervise nursing assistants and other non-licensed personnel, and coordinate with interdisciplinary departments to maintain quality care standards.
Responsibilities
Administrative and Personnel Functions
- Direct day-to-day nursing functions of STNAs and other nursing personnel in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines
- Provide discipline and performance evaluations for assigned STNAs and nursing personnel
- Meet with assigned nursing personnel to plan shifts' services, programs, and activities
- Inform nursing personnel of new admissions, expected arrival times, and room assignments
- Provide feedback and recommendations for probationary and annual employee performance evaluations
- Lead, educate, counsel, and discipline assigned STNAs as necessary
Charting and Documentation
- Complete and file required recordkeeping forms and charts upon resident admission, transfer, and discharge
- Encourage attending physicians to review treatment plans and record and sign orders and progress notes
Medication Administration
- Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician
- Verify resident identity before administering medication
- Ensure prescribed medication for one resident is not administered to another resident
Nursing Care Functions
- Review resident care plans daily to ensure appropriate care is being rendered
- Inform the Nurse Supervisor and/or Unit Manager of any changes needed on care plans
