Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse Float to support the healthcare team in the provision of patient care across multiple outpatient clinic settings. In this float pool position, you will deliver direct patient care, provide healthcare information to patients and families, and support established plans of care under the delegation and supervision of licensed professionals in accordance with VUMC standards and licensure regulations.
Clinical Setting
You will float to various outpatient clinics across Vanderbilt Health's Main Campus, 100 Oaks, and surrounding areas, working with the VMG Staffing Operations Adult Team.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers in the delivery of health care services
- Partner with the healthcare team by following established plans of care to ensure patient progress and effective outcomes
- Support plans to promote health and maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Collect, report, and record objective and subjective patient data in an accurate and timely manner
- Participate in patient education activities under the direction of licensed healthcare team members
- Participate in the development of plans of care in consultation with the licensed healthcare team
- Demonstrate clinical nursing interventions such as wound care, point of care testing, and vital signs
- Anticipate resource needs, identify distinct tasks, set priorities, and organize work within areas of direct responsibility
- Handle multiple assignments simultaneously, prioritizing work into manageable and measurable units
- Adapt to changes in patient care and area needs with minimal disruption to productivity
Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- 36 or 40 hours per week
- Float assignment to various outpatient locations
Required Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Graduate of an approved discipline-specific nursing program
