Licensed Practical Nurse - Family Medicine Clinic

SSM Health Medical Group in Troy, Missouri is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for their Family Medicine Clinic. This is a PRN (as-needed) position offering varied hours and flexible scheduling. You will provide patient care under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, working within the scope of your LPN license.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a family medicine clinic environment, Monday through Friday during day shifts with no weekend or holiday requirements.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to patient assessment and ensure patient well-being
• Administer medications and monitor patients for adverse reactions
• Perform laboratory tests and therapeutic services
• Educate patients and families about disease treatment plans, self-care post-discharge, holistic health needs, available resources, and follow-up care
• Document provider encounters with patients, including diagnoses, symptoms, discharge/follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as indicated
• Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications
• Complete patient charts by transcribing results of labs, x-rays, and other evaluations
• Monitor progress of data availability for orders to ensure complete patient workup for provider decision-making
• Transcribe consultations or discussions with family members, patients' private physicians, or on-call physicians
• Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent education for licensing
• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license:
• For Illinois: Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• For Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin: LPN license issued by a Compact State
• No prior nursing experience required

• Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds, and hear alarms or malfunctioning machinery
• Occasional lifting and carrying of objects weighing 25-50 lbs
• Occasional pushing and pulling of objects weighing 25-50 lbs
• Occasional lifting and moving of patients
• Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and gripping
• Occasional repetitive foot, leg, hand, and arm movements
• Occasional driving
• Rare crawling and running

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, day shift
• No weekends or holidays
• PRN (as-needed) with varied hours
