Licensed Practical Nurse - Endocrinology

Join our Endocrinology Clinic as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a full-time, Monday through Friday position. You will work in a blended role supporting a variety of providers and their patients in a clinic setting. This position offers no nights or weekends, with hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Clinical Setting

You will work in an outpatient endocrinology clinic serving patients with diabetes and other endocrine conditions. You will not be assigned to a single provider, so flexibility and adaptability to different provider preferences are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices
• Perform telephone screening and triage with established protocols
• Assist with rooming patients
• Download and interpret blood glucose meters and insulin pumps
• Provide patient education on injectable medicines and glucose meters
• Assist with clinical procedures including wound cleaning, dressing changes, suctioning, catheter insertion, tracheostomy care, and biopsies
• Perform diabetic nail care
• Screen walk-in patients
• Work autonomously and as part of a team
• Delegate tasks to unlicensed assistive personnel in accordance with scope of practice and demonstrated competencies
• Cover Medical Assistant duties as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by the clinic

Required Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Missouri or Kansas
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross
• Previous experience working with diabetes and pediatric patients

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with blood glucose meters and insulin pumps
