This position provides direct patient care in a nephrology clinical setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist physicians and Advanced Practice Providers in delivering safe, timely, and patient-centered care to nephrology patients. This is an on-site, patient-facing role requiring in-office presence for real-time collaboration with providers, direct patient and caregiver interaction, and secure handling of health data in compliance with HIPAA.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for clinical evaluation, including chart review and initial assessment (25%)
- Obtain and document vital signs, weight, allergies, and current medications in the EMR (25%)
- Perform lab procedures within scope, including fingerstick HGB and stool card interpretation after certification (25%)
- Educate patients and complete referrals as directed by the provider (15%)
- Maintain accurate documentation of communication, interventions, and follow-up care in the EMR (10%)
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree or certification with 2 years of clinical experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Active LPN license in North Carolina or South Carolina
- Current BLS or ACLS certification
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to assess patients and apply critical thinking skills in response to events, observations, and communications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR platforms
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional ethics
- Interpersonal skills to collaborate with care teams and provide compassionate service

Work Environment
- Typical interior office environment with moderate noise level

- Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm with one-hour lunch
