Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for our Dermatology Clinic. In this role, you will support the licensed healthcare team in providing direct patient care, patient education, and care coordination within a dermatology outpatient setting. You will work collaboratively with registered nurses and other healthcare team members to implement established plans of care, evaluate patient progress, and ensure safe, effective outcomes. All patient care activities will be undertaken under the delegation and supervision of a licensed professional in accordance with Vanderbilt University Medical Center standards and Tennessee licensure regulations.
Clinical Setting
This position is located within Dermatology OHO Clinical at Vanderbilt Health, part of the region's largest comprehensive academic health system with eight hospitals and over 180 clinics.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers in the delivery of healthcare services
- Provide direct patient care under the direction of a licensed healthcare team member
- Collect, report, and record objective and subjective patient data in an accurate and timely manner
- Participate in the development of the plan of care in consultation with the licensed healthcare team
- Perform nursing interventions such as wound care, point of care testing, and vital signs
- Provide patient education on health topics and treatment plans
- Support plans to promote health and maintain a safe environment
- Anticipate resource needs, identify distinct tasks, set priorities, and organize work within areas of direct responsibility
- Handle multiple assignments simultaneously, prioritizing work into manageable units
- Adapt to changes in patient care and area needs with minimal disruption
- Follow up to ensure problems and issues are resolved
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 7:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
- Four 10-hour shifts with one day off (specific day to be determined)
Required Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse license in Tennessee
- Graduate of an approved discipline-specific LPN program
- One year of relevant work experience
