Licensed Practical Nurse, Correctional Healthcare (Afternoon/Evenings)

Join the healthcare team at a correctional institution in Hagerstown, Maryland, as a Licensed Practical Nurse on the afternoon/evening shift. You will provide comprehensive, hands-on nursing care to incarcerated patients within the LPN scope of practice, working alongside Registered Nurses and medical and psychiatric staff to address a wide range of health needs.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a secure correctional healthcare environment operated by the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. This role offers a structured setting with clear protocols and a collaborative interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to incarcerated patients within the LPN scope of practice
• Work under the direction of Registered Nurses and medical and psychiatric providers
• Respond to patients' physical and behavioral health needs
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered and document care accurately
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to the supervising RN or provider

Schedule

• Full-time position
• Evening shift: 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM
• 8-hour shifts
• On-site at the correctional institution

Required Qualifications

• Active LPN license to practice in Maryland or valid NLC compact license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, including a drug screen and criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of LPN experience in a community outpatient clinic, hospital, or long-term care facility
• Corrections healthcare experience
