Licensed Practical Nurse-Clinic - Dept of Urology - FT 1.0 (80 hrs biweekly) (72386)

Memorial Health System seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Department of Urology clinic. This full-time position (80 hours biweekly) provides professional nursing care in a clinic setting focused on continuous quality improvement and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to nursing plans of care and perform nursing interventions and procedures as necessary, working under provider direction
• Provide and record sample medications to patients, demonstrating knowledge of commonly prescribed medications including administration technique, action, dosage, and side effects
• Identify patient care problems and communicate them to the provider through careful patient observation
• Document patient intake including vital statistics, allergy verification, past medical history, current medication list, and review of systems
• Perform assigned nursing procedures and treatments as ordered and within scope of practice with timely, appropriate documentation
• Assist with patient education as needed
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all nursing care by authenticating entries in medical records
• Maintain office records and logs as directed by supervisor
• Collect specimens and complete required forms in accordance with department standards
• Submit prescriptions under provider direction and ensure all prescriptions are documented in the patient medical record at the time of execution
• Maintain compliance with RQI requirements
• Assume additional duties and responsibilities as necessary

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited LPN program
• Active Licensed Practical Nurse license in Ohio and/or West Virginia
• BLS certification
• Demonstrated proficiency in clinical settings with relevant knowledge and skills
• Knowledge of documenting and maintaining electronic health records
