Bryan Health's BH Intervention Cardio Clinic is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care in a cardiac specialty setting. You will assist physicians with examinations and procedures for patients with cardiac-related health conditions, coordinate patient flow and care activities, and maintain accurate electronic health records in compliance with Nebraska nursing regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing and patient care activities to ensure physical and psychological well-being
  • Screen patients and gather appropriate information to maintain current electronic health records
  • Room patients using the clinic's established process, including taking patient history, vital signs, and medication reconciliation
  • Register and maintain timely, complete patient information in electronic health records and charts; post test and examination results immediately
  • Support providers in coordinating and facilitating patient care and follow-up to achieve quality outcomes
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean and well-stocked with necessary equipment and supplies
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during patient examinations
  • Perform electrocardiograms
  • Dispense medications as directed and observe and record patient responses to drugs and treatments
  • Educate patients and families about diagnostic procedures, medications, post-treatment instructions, nutrition, and health maintenance
  • Understand diagnosis-related ordering guidelines to ensure appropriate reimbursement
  • Assist with pre-authorizations, release of information requests, and FMLA certification
  • Respond to and refer incoming patient treatment-related phone calls
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Manage work hours, supplies, and clinical costs in accordance with fiscal responsibility and budget
  • Attend meetings and participate on committees as assigned
  • May assist providers at both Lincoln and Outreach Clinic sites
  • Maintain professional growth through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited professional nursing program
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Nebraska
  • Minimum one year of nursing experience
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinic nursing experience

Certifications Accepted

  • American Heart Association CPR certification for healthcare professionals
  • American Red Cross CPR certification for healthcare professionals
  • Military Training Network CPR certification

Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • Day shift, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
