Licensed Practical Nurse [Blount], Neuroscience Med/Surg, Full-Time, Night

Blount Memorial Hospital is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Neuroscience Med/Surg unit on the night shift. In this role, you will provide direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician, focusing on monitoring patient status, collecting clinical data, and documenting patient responses and care activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on individualized plans of care as delegated by the Registered Nurse or Physician, addressing physical, emotional, cultural, spiritual, psychosocial, and educational needs
• Monitor and document patient status and condition, including vital signs, drains, dressings, and lab values
• Inform the appropriate Registered Nurse or Physician of activities performed, patient observations and responses, and any changes in patient status
• Maintain accurate patient medical records and treat all records as confidential
• Collect and document data as delegated, which may include use of specialized equipment such as glucometer and pulse oximetry
• Orient patients and families to room and unit routines
• Administer and document medications per policy
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an LPN program recognized by the State Board of Nursing
• One year of experience as an LPN
• Current LPN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State, or licensure to practice as an LPN in the state where you will be working

Alternative Qualifications

• In lieu of one year of LPN experience, successful completion of the Prisma Health Nurse Residency Program or a comparable residency program from another organization is accepted
• In lieu of one year of LPN experience, enrollment in an accredited LPN to RN transition program is accepted
• Program equivalency recognized by the State Board of Nursing may be accepted in lieu of completion of a traditional LPN program

Additional Information

• If you obtain RN licensure while employed in this position, Prisma Health will accept your RN licensure for a limited time until you can be placed in an RN position. You must immediately notify your manager and Talent Acquisition if you are scheduled to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam or have obtained RN licensure.
