Licensed Practical Nurse 3-11 Monday through Friday

This position offers an opportunity to provide direct nursing care to residents in a long-term care and skilled nursing facility setting. You will work the 3 to 11 PM shift, Monday through Friday, supervising nursing activities performed by CNAs and CMAs while maintaining compliance with the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act and all federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by CNAs and CMAs
• Coordinate nursing care and other resident services to ensure comprehensive care regimens are maintained
• Participate in the facility's quality assurance program for the nursing department
• Participate in surveys and inspections conducted by authorized government agencies
• Record new or changed diet orders and communicate with the dietary department
• Chart all communications with physicians, medical professionals, and resident families
• Receive and transcribe physician orders to resident medical records
• Assist with preparation and planning of resident discharge plans and conduct periodic reviews
• Take and record vital signs and perform personal care tasks as needed
• Ensure all medical charting and documentation is complete upon admission, transfer, and discharge
• Conduct routine checks of resident care plans to ensure CNAs and CMAs follow physician orders
• Complete accident and incident reports and notify physicians of changes in resident conditions
• Prepare and administer medications according to the 5 Rights of Medication Administration; notify the Director of Nursing of discrepancies, errors, or adverse reactions
• Respond promptly to all call lights and maintain high-quality resident care and comfort
• Administer professional services including catheterization, tube feedings, suctioning, bandage changes, colostomy and drainage bag care, blood draws, range of motion exercises, and end-of-life care
• Practice infection control techniques in all aspects of resident care and utilize personal protective equipment according to company protocols
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and management
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records
• Protect residents from neglect, abuse, and mistreatment; report any instances immediately to the Director of Nursing

Required Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing, currently licensed by the state of Oklahoma
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care environment
• Diploma from an accredited School of Nursing
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to pass a background check
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job
• Ability to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and work cooperatively with other staff members
• Capability to maintain regular attendance
• Excellent communication and teaching skills in both individual and group settings

• Genuine interest and compassion for caring for elderly and disabled individuals in a long-term care community
• Ability to lift, bend, climb, reach, push, and pull as required
