Harmony is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide quality nursing care and services to residents in an assisted living community located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. This is a part-time position working 7p-11p shifts. You will coordinate physical, social, and emotional aspects of care in accordance with physician orders and resident choices.
Responsibilities
- Execute the medication management plan including periodic review of documentation, observation of effectiveness, and communication to the physician when changes are needed
- Conduct continuous assessment of resident needs with updates to appropriate individuals regarding care, services, and changes in condition
- Implement measures to ensure resident wellness and safety with appropriate documentation
- Work collaboratively with the team to meet resident needs
- Respond to emergencies in a timely, calm, and competent manner
- Report incidents and changes in resident condition to the Healthcare Director with appropriate documentation
- Participate actively in all activities including community events
- Assist with meal delivery in the dining room, monitor resident diet acceptance, and ensure adequate nutrition
- Maintain high standards for record keeping and resident and staff documentation
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all departments
- Identify risk factors for residents and initiate interventions with appropriate documentation
- Provide thorough reports of resident status to the on-coming nursing team at each shift change and in the Daily Log
- Provide motivation and direction to CNAs and RMAs
- Attend required trainings, CEUs, and staff meetings
- Adhere to all policies and procedures
- Practice proper body mechanics and safe resident transferring techniques
- Adhere to attendance policies and report to work on time and prepared
- Complete all other assigned duties
Required Qualifications
- Current LPN license in good standing with the Tennessee Board of Nursing
- Experience working with the senior population, preferably in assisted living or long-term care
- Team player who works well with others and has experience supervising staff
- Critical thinking skills and ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently with strong organizational skills
- Good physical condition with ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to work flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays
- Must be certified or willing to take and pass state-required certification classes
