Lead Registered Nurse Position in Tempe; SMI/ Integrated Care; Near Loop 202/ Priest Dr (9128)

Terros Health is seeking a Lead Registered Nurse for our Priest Drive Recovery Health Center in Tempe, Arizona. This full-time position leads nursing operations at an integrated behavioral health and primary care facility serving individuals with serious mental illness and substance use disorders. The Lead RN works as an active member of the site management team, overseeing integrated care services, supervising nursing and medical assistant staff, and ensuring delivery of high-quality clinical care grounded in recovery principles.

Clinical Setting

Terros Health is a healthcare organization specializing in primary care, mental health, and substance use treatment. The Priest Drive Recovery Health Center provides integrated care services to individuals with serious mental illness (SMI) and co-occurring conditions. The facility is located near Loop 202 and Priest Drive in Tempe.

Responsibilities

• Carry a reduced clinical caseload to allow time for supervision and administrative duties
• Work collaboratively with site operational and clinical leaders to ensure efficient workflow
• Communicate and coordinate changes in workflow or services to medical assistants and providers
• Serve as a member of the site management team, assisting the Director of Nursing to ensure effective coordination and communication with site nursing staff
• Record potential barriers to quality nursing care and work with the Medical Director to develop solutions
• Ensure initial and ongoing competencies for medical assistants and nurses; manage training records
• Clinically supervise all RNs and contract RNs at the site, including participation in performance reviews
• Address clinical and administrative performance issues, provide clinical consultation and support, participate in peer reviews and corrective action plans as required
• Participate in recruiting, orienting, and mentoring new nursing staff; support retention efforts
• Screen and monitor patients for medical problems and side effects
• Manage the medication system at the site, ensuring documentation of patient visits, medication administration, and services are recorded in accordance with policies, procedures, and clinical protocols on the same date of service
• Promote and role model practice according to the recovery model, including motivational interviewing and practice engagement skills
• Take full responsibility for integrated treatment services; coordinate care with ACT team members and other providers to ensure members' needs are met
• Work with informal support systems (family, landlords, employers, etc.) to provide clinical skills training and increase community supports

Required Qualifications

• Active Arizona State Board of Nursing RN license
• One year of prior experience in a psychiatric setting and/or working with individuals receiving behavioral health services
• Valid Arizona driver's license, minimum 21 years of age with at least 3 years driving experience, and ability to meet Terros Health's driving policy requirements
• Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (Level 1) or ability to apply within 7 working days of assuming the role
• Pass TB test and drug screen
• Pass background check
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; experience with electronic medical records systems, preferably NextGen

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within psychiatric crisis situations and/or with individuals with serious mental illness
• Strong understanding of substance use, addiction, and recovery principles
• Knowledge of chronic conditions experienced by those with serious mental illness
• Bilingual capability in Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, Arabic, Farsi, Swahili, or ASL

Schedule

• Full-time, 40 hours per week

Compensation

• $86,000 to $93,000+ annually, depending on years of RN experience and education
• Additional language differential pay available: $2 per hour (approximately $4,160 annually) for Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, Arabic, Farsi, Swahili, or ASL
