IV Infusion Nurse (RN)

LifeWorks Wellness Center is seeking an IV Infusion Registered Nurse for a pure infusion role focused on administering IV infusions and managing complex patient needs in an outpatient setting. This position involves no triage or bedside duties and offers daytime hours only with no weekend or night shifts.

Clinical Setting

This is an outpatient infusion role with no emergency department or inpatient responsibilities. You will work exclusively during daytime hours with no weekend or night shift requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administer IV infusions and monitor patients for adverse reactions or complications
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards
• Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies
• Assist with procedures such as catheterization, phlebotomy, and suturing as needed
• Participate in case management activities to ensure continuity of care
• Utilize EMR systems for patient records management
• Adhere to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during procedures

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Experience in IV infusion therapy
• Phlebotomy experience
• Proficiency with EHR systems
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations, including those with developmental disabilities or geriatric needs
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with acute pain management
• Background in critical care, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine
• Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and medical documentation practices
• Experience in various nursing settings such as long-term care, home health, hospice and palliative medicine, or outpatient clinics
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
