The opportunity

Job Description

UniversaCare is seeking a Per Diem Home Infusion Registered Nurse to provide specialized infusion therapy services in patients' homes throughout the NY Metropolitan area. In this role, you will deliver compassionate, one-on-one nursing care to patients receiving infusion therapies, allowing them to recover in the comfort of their own homes while working outside the traditional hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a broad range of infusion therapies in outpatients' homes
  • Perform clinical IV capabilities and patient care with a personal touch
  • Conduct one-on-one home infusion nursing care visits and patient education in accordance with the physician's plan of treatment
  • Assess patient condition and response to therapy, taking action as needed to facilitate achievement of treatment goals
  • Establish trust and build therapeutically effective relationships with clients and their families
  • Handle specialty cases including IGG, IVIG, and Solumedrol

Required Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted registered nurse license in New York
  • Two or more years of experience working as an RN in a critical care setting that contributes to proficiency in infusion therapy (such as medical surgical unit, ED, ICU, post-anesthesia care, or similar setting)
  • Experience with lab draws, IV infusions, and reconstitution of medications
  • Strong experience working with a variety of infusion pumps (CAAD, curling, etc.) and troubleshooting issues that may arise
  • Valid and current driver's license with auto insurance and registration
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Knowledge of HIPAA patient privacy and data security requirements and OSHA employee protection regulations
  • Current malpractice insurance
  • Experience with Microsoft Office to document and track patient care activity

Schedule

  • Per diem position with flexible hours
  • Evenings and weekends required
  • Immediate start date available

Compensation

  • $55 per hour starting rate
