IV Compounding Pharmacy Technician - Specialty Infusion Pharmacy Technician

Soleo Health is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to support our specialty infusion pharmacy in Hoover, Alabama. In this role, you will provide clinical support services and prepare sterile compounded infusion therapies under the direction of a pharmacist, in compliance with state board of pharmacy regulations and current standards.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a specialty infusion pharmacy environment, supporting complex care delivery through home infusion and alternate sites of care. This position requires expertise in sterile compounding and IV medication preparation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile IV and infused medications under pharmacist direction in compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 standards and state Board of Pharmacy regulations
• Maintain call and shipment schedules to ensure continuity of care for all patients
• Collect, document, and coordinate customer communications, laboratory data, and clinical information with pharmacy, nursing, and reimbursement staff
• Perform data entry of patient and prescription information into the pharmacy software system as allowed by Board of Pharmacy regulations
• Clean and maintain the pharmacy clean room in accordance with company policy and state regulations
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement programs
• Receive and store medications and supplies from vendors
• Pick and package supplies and medications for shipment to customer homes
• Participate in regularly scheduled inventory counts and comply with formulary management programs
• Obtain additional state technical licensure or registration as needed to support the geographic service area
• Remain current with Board of Pharmacy continuing education requirements and complete annual re-credentialing

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current registration or certification as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Alabama in good standing
• Minimum one year of on-the-job work experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital or specialty infusion pharmacy (not training or clinical experience)
• Minimum experience working as a technician in the pharmacy IV room of a hospital
• Experience with IV compounding medications
• Excellent sterile compounding technique
• Excellent customer service skills
• Basic to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

• PTCB or NHA Certification
• IV Compounding Certification
• Prior technician experience with a home infusion company
• Knowledge of NetSuite, CPR+, or Insight software

Schedule

• Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• 40 hours per week
• No weekends or holidays
