Lakeland Regional Health, a leading medical center in Central Florida and the only designated Level 1 Trauma Center for Polk, Highlands, and Hardee counties, is seeking an Interventional Radiologic Technologist on a PRN (as needed) basis. This role offers flexible scheduling and flexible shifts with approximately 16 hours per biweekly pay period based on departmental needs.
You will work independently or assist licensed independent practitioners in completing interventional radiologic procedures. As the primary imaging liaison between patients, practitioners, and the support team, you will prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and institutional policy.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and interventional procedures as prescribed or directed by the interventional radiologist, vascular surgeon, or other licensed independent practitioner
- Determine radiographic technique exposure factors and effectively pan the table during exposures
- Assist with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional radiography procedures and perform noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures
- Maintain intra-arterial access as prescribed
- Participate in physiologic monitoring of patients
- Perform manual and mechanical hemostasis, including the use of vascular closure devices
- Place, maintain, and remove peripherally inserted central catheters
- Assist in selecting appropriate catheters, wires, equipment, and other devices necessary for procedures
- Operate and maintain equipment such as contrast injectors, ultrasound systems, and lasers, and report malfunctions promptly
- Participate in radiation protection, patient and personnel safety, risk management, and quality management activities
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree
- Completion of a JRCERT-approved educational program in Radiologic Technology
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
- Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) credential
- R.T. Vascular-Interventional Radiography certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- 12 months of experience as an Interventional Radiologic Technologist
- Patient assessment skills
- Critical thinking and independent judgment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor degree
- 24 months of experience as an Interventional Radiologic Technologist
