The opportunity

Job Description

Terrestris seeks an Interventional Radiologist Physician to provide clinical services to the Veteran community at a VA medical facility in Syracuse, NY. This position is open to locum, traveling, and permanent candidates.

Clinical Setting

You will work at the VA Medical Center, 800 Irving Avenue, Syracuse, NY, providing interventional radiology services in a federal healthcare setting serving Veterans.

Responsibilities

You will spend approximately 95% of your time providing direct patient care and on-site clinical coverage for interventional radiology procedures, including:

  • Angiography
  • Balloon angioplasty and stent placement
  • Biliary intervention
  • Biopsies (CT-guided and ultrasound-guided) including lung, liver, renal, lymph node, thyroid, parotid, bone, and bone marrow
  • Central line insertion and assessment
  • Chemoembolization
  • Dialysis access and related interventions
  • Drain and tube insertions and exchanges including biliary, nephrostomy, chest, ureteral stent, cholecystostomy, abscess, and suprapubic
  • Embolization
  • Joint injections
  • IVC filters
  • Lumbar puncture
  • Myelograms
  • Paracentesis
  • Radiologically inserted gastrostomy
  • Thoracentesis
  • Vertebroplasty

The remaining 5-10% of time involves administrative duties. You will also provide on-call coverage as part of a rotating schedule.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Rotating call and holiday coverage required

Required Qualifications

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently without sponsorship
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
  • Current active license to practice medicine in New York State
  • Board certification by the American Board of Radiology
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Completion of VA credentialing and medical staff onboarding requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with the VA

Compensation

  • $250+ per hour

Contract Type

  • 1 base year with four 1-year option periods
