We are seeking an Interventional Radiologist to join our team in Fredericksburg, Virginia. In this role, you will perform a broad range of minimally invasive, image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound, and MRI. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality, patient-centered care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings, ensuring accurate evaluation, appropriate procedural selection, and optimal clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform vascular interventions including angiography, angioplasty, embolization, and thrombolysis
- Perform non-vascular interventions including biopsies, drainages, and ablations
- Place central venous access
- Perform interventional oncology procedures such as TACE, Y-90, and cryoablation
- Perform gastrointestinal and genitourinary interventions including nephrostomies and biliary drainage
- Provide pre-procedure evaluation and post-procedure follow-up, including clinical rounds on admitted patients and consultations and post-operative follow-up in outpatient settings
- Review imaging to determine optimal procedural planning and patient candidacy
- Serve as a consultant to referring clinicians in the ED, critical care, surgery, oncology, and hospital medicine
- Participate in multidisciplinary conferences including tumor boards and vascular meetings
- Communicate findings, recommendations, and procedural results clearly and in a timely manner
- Ensure safe and appropriate use of radiation, contrast agents, and sedation
- Adhere to hospital, regulatory, and accreditation standards including ACR and Joint Commission requirements
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and protocol optimization
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR and PACS
- Participate in a shared call rotation, providing after-hours interventional coverage as needed
- Support workflow efficiency across IR suites, procedure rooms, and inpatient consult services
- Collaborate with technologists, nurses, advanced practice providers, and support staff
- Maintain board certification, hospital privileges, and required CME
- Stay current with advances in IR techniques, devices, and clinical best practices
- Participate in teaching and mentoring of residents, fellows, or medical staff as applicable
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree with completion of an accredited Radiology residency program
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Interventional Radiology residency or fellowship
- Board certified or board eligible in Interventional Radiology (ABR or equivalent)
- Unrestricted medical license or eligibility for one
- Proficiency with a broad range of IR procedures in a hospital setting
Preferred Qualifications

Licenses and Certifications

Compensation
- Base salary: $680,000
- Eligible for additional performance and productivity incentive bonuses
