The opportunity

Job Description

The VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City is seeking an Interventional Radiologist to join its clinical team. This is a one-year position with four optional renewal years, anticipated to start in mid-June or early July pending credentialing and background clearance.

Clinical Setting

You will provide comprehensive interventional radiology services at a VA Medical Center, working with an adult patient population. The position requires full-scope interventional radiology procedures performed according to ACR guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform arterial diagnostic and interventional procedures including percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA), stent placement, thrombolysis, embolization, transarterial chemoembolization (TACE), stent grafts, and foreign body removal
  • Perform venous diagnostic and interventional procedures including TIPS, thrombectomy, filter placement, portal vein embolization, and venous access procedures
  • Place tunneled and non-tunneled central venous catheters
  • Perform additional interventional radiology procedures per ACR guidelines
  • Maintain competency in moderate sedation
  • Ensure compliance with MRI and fluoroscopy safety protocols

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Average 1:3 on-call rotation

Required Qualifications

  • Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology
  • Board certification
  • Active state medical license (any state)
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • DEA registration
  • Moderate sedation competency
  • MRI and fluoroscopy safety compliance

Credentialing

Average credentialing timeframe is 8-10 weeks.
