Piedmont Community Charter School seeks an Interim School Nurse to provide professional nursing care and medical support to students in kindergarten through grade 4. This is a 12-week exempt position reporting to the Director.
Clinical Setting
You will work in a dynamic school environment across a large campus. The role requires high mobility and the ability to navigate various campus terrains and multi-level buildings rapidly to ensure student and staff safety.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive school nursing services to students in K through Grade 4
- Follow policies, procedures, and work standards for the school health program
- Serve as a health consultant and provide leadership in ensuring the school health program aligns with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies
- Prepare health reports for the Director or designee as requested
- Collaborate with child-support agencies to design and deliver school health services
- Provide first aid and medically prescribed services
- Maintain the security of school health supplies, including medications
- Provide health education aligned with the state curriculum (K-12), as assigned
- Serve as a resource on health issues and participate in the School Nursing Team
- Provide professional development on health-related topics for school staff as needed
- Conduct follow-up student health evaluations as needed and recommend corrective action when concerns are identified
- Complete vision screenings as requested for students on Tier 2 or in the referral process
- Communicate with parents or guardians regarding student health needs
- Maintain records of immunizations, health findings, and other relevant health information
- Chart in Infinite Campus
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications

- Current license as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina
