Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, NY is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Hospital Medicine team in a 0.62 FTE daytime role. You will provide high-quality inpatient care alongside a supportive Hospitalist and collaborative clinical team, with meaningful autonomy in a community-focused Critical Access Hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage hospitalized patients in coordination with the Hospitalist physician
- Respond to nursing staff calls and evaluate changes in patient condition
- Order and interpret labs, imaging, and other diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and develop evidence-based treatment plans
- Complete admissions, daily progress notes, and discharge planning, including summaries and follow-up coordination
- Support patient flow across inpatient units and partner with interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely, high-quality care
Schedule
- 0.62 FTE, approximately 25 hours per week
- Weekday daytime shifts consisting of 8-10 hour shifts, depending on operational needs
- No night shifts; occasional weekend or holiday participation may be requested
Required Qualifications
- Active licensure or eligibility as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in New York State
- Experience required in Hospital Medicine or acute care (new graduates are not eligible)
- Ability to practice with independence and confidence in a mixed-acuity inpatient environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing, therapies, and case management
Education and Licensure Requirements
For Nurse Practitioners:
- Completion of a master's, post-master's, or doctoral NP program accredited by CCNE or ACEN
- Current national certification such as ANCC or equivalent
For Physician Assistants:
- Graduation from an ARC-PA-accredited PA program or qualifying predecessor program
- Current NCCPA certification
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation range: $77.30 to $96.81 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
