Good Samaritan Medical Center - Nurse Extern Opportunities

Good Samaritan Medical Center is seeking Nurse Externs to provide expanded clinical experience for senior nursing students. In this role, you will assist patients with activities of daily living and provide basic patient care designed to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of patients. You will work under the supervision and preceptorship of Registered Nurse staff members.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living
• Provide basic patient care to meet physical, emotional, and social needs
• Participate in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation
• Report significant observations to a Registered Nurse
• Perform nursing practice interventions learned within clinical training and validated by RN staff
• May be cross-trained to perform unit secretary clerical duties

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program
• Successfully entered senior year in an accredited school of nursing
• Must pass all senior courses to remain in the program
• AHA BLS certification

Preceptorship

• Level II positions include 1:1 preceptorship with a Registered Nurse
