FutureCare is seeking a Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant to join our frontline healthcare team in a skilled nursing facility setting. As a GNA, you will provide direct care and support to our residents, playing a pivotal role in their daily activities and overall well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff with completion of resident activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and oral care
- Perform vital signs on residents at the beginning of each shift and as directed
- Answer calls for assistance and observe changes in resident behavior, emotional state, or physical condition
- Complete required documentation in a timely manner
- Assist in transporting residents as needed
- Provide companionship to residents
- Ensure the safety of residents
- Assist with motivating residents to help keep them active and engaged
- Maintain a clean and healthy environment
Required Qualifications
- Current GNA certification and Maryland GNA license
- Positive and professional attitude
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to remain calm and patient when dealing with residents
- Ability to listen attentively
- Ability to problem solve and work well under pressure
- Willingness to navigate changes in assignments
- Ability to show empathy and compassion while interacting with residents
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a skilled nursing facility
