Optum WA is seeking a Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive outpatient care in Seattle or Arlington, WA. This is an outpatient-only position with no inpatient responsibilities, procedures, or on-call duties. You will independently manage a panel of new and established patients, evaluate and treat a broad range of GI conditions, and collaborate closely with gastroenterologists and fellow nurse practitioners in a team-based care model. Nurse practitioners are fully integrated members of the gastroenterology care team with active involvement in clinical decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient gastroenterology care to an established patient population
  • Independently manage a panel of new and established patients
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of GI conditions
  • Collaborate closely with gastroenterologists and fellow nurse practitioners
  • Typically see approximately 14-16 patients per day once fully ramped

  • New nurse practitioners receive structured onboarding, including mentorship and gradual ramp-up with experienced providers

Schedule

  • Typical schedule of 4 ten-hour days
  • Full-time defined as 36 patient contact hours per week
  • After successful onboarding, providers may have the option for one full day of virtual visits per week

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • National Nurse Practitioner certification (AANP or ANCC)
  • Unrestricted Washington State license (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
  • Active Washington State DEA license prior to start date

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Nurse Practitioner experience strongly preferred
  • Gastroenterology experience highly valued
  • Epic EMR experience a plus

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range: $104,500 to $156,000 per year
  • Salary is total cash compensation at target; actual range and pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement
