The Peddie School's Hensle Health Center is seeking a full-time registered nurse to provide comprehensive health services to boarding students during night shifts. This position offers the opportunity to deliver nursing care to a diverse adolescent population in a school-based health center setting.
Clinical Setting
You will work in a school health center serving boarding students, providing both routine and emergent care during night shift hours.
Responsibilities
- Conduct health assessments through interviews, observation, physical exams, and record review
- Evaluate psychosocial, emotional, cultural, environmental, and behavioral factors affecting student health
- Provide and manage care for students requiring inpatient, outpatient, or emergent services
- Practice universal precautions and adhere to infection control protocols
- Administer and document medications in accordance with physician orders and dispensing policies
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient and departmental information
- Participate in health education, wellness, and disease prevention initiatives
- Complete daily reports, maintain accurate medical charts, and ensure equipment readiness
- Restock medical supplies and maintain exam and dispensary areas
- Attend staff meetings and participate in quality assurance and professional development activities
Schedule
- Three 12-hour shifts per week
- Night shift position
Required Qualifications
- Current New Jersey RN license
- BLS/CPR certification
- Successful completion of a New Jersey Criminal Background Check
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience in adolescent medicine, ambulatory care, or triage
- Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer applications
Compensation
- $36-$43 per hour, depending on experience
