Job Description

Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley is seeking a Full-Time Operating Room Aide to support surgical operations under the direction of the Registered Nurse. This role performs essential non-nursing tasks in the surgical unit to maintain efficient, safe, and clean operating room environments.

Schedule

  • Rotating 8-hour shifts
  • Full-time position

Responsibilities

  • Assure linen is adequately stocked in warmers daily
  • Maintain and record all temperature logs per department process and policy
  • Prepare gurneys and beds as needed for operating rooms
  • Organize equipment room
  • Deliver specimens to laboratory in a timely manner
  • Assist with cleaning operating rooms at completion of each case in accordance with Infection Control guidelines
  • Assist with inter-operative patient positioning
  • Maintain adequate stock of all PPE at OR entrances and throughout unit
  • Participate in gathering and putting away equipment and supplies as necessary
  • Safely transport patients to and from the surgical suite as requested
  • Assist with picking cases and assembling case carts for future cases
  • Proactively assist with turnover including managing OR equipment and assisting with room turnover to ensure fluid running of department
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital, which emphasizes patient-centered interactions

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
  • Ability to read, write, and understand the English language
  • Ability to maintain the physical demands of the job, including pushing and pulling heavy equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, and Joint Commission standards as it relates to the department
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to anticipate and adapt to changes in the environment as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years of applicable experience

Compensation

  • Base pay scale: Generally starting at $27.20 - $34.00 per hour. Final salary will be determined based on internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
