FamilyCare Health Centers is hiring a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to provide primary care services at our Cross Lanes site. This position offers flexible scheduling with evening and weekend hours, available as full-time or part-time.
You will deliver comprehensive primary health care to pediatric patients from infancy through adolescence, including diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness, preventive care, and well-child services. This role requires managing patients and conditions within the scope of your training as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities
- Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive primary health care services
- Perform comprehensive physical exams and age-appropriate screening procedures
- Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests
- Perform waived and microscopy laboratory testing as indicated
- Formulate diagnoses and develop treatment plans
- Order and/or administer pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions
- Facilitate patient education and participation in self-care
- Implement systematic follow-up and evaluation of patient status
- Complete all appropriate documentation in a timely manner according to FamilyCare policy
- Consult with, collaborate with, or refer to other medical providers as appropriate
- Share after-hours telephone coverage with other FamilyCare providers
- Participate in research, educational activities, and teaching of students if interested
- Attend clinical and staff meetings
- Perform administrative duties as assigned
- Observe all health and safety requirements
- Participate in continuous quality improvement activities
- Perform work in a cost-effective manner
Required Qualifications
- Registered nurse with valid West Virginia license
- Recognition by the WV Board of Examiners for Registered Nurses as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
- Prescriptive Authority through the WV Board of Examiners for Registered Nurses, if eligible
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to talk and hear
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, and reach
- Frequently lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds
- Occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds or more
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus
