Float Pool Patient Care Technician PRN

Portsmouth Regional Hospital is seeking a Float Pool Patient Care Technician (PRN) to join our collaborative nursing team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will provide vital support to Registered Nurses in delivering hands-on patient care while helping create a safe and welcoming environment. You will assist patients with daily needs, monitor conditions, and help carry out care plans while maintaining a focus on patient comfort and dignity.

Clinical Setting

Portsmouth Regional Hospital is a 240-bed acute care facility located in Portsmouth, NH, serving communities throughout New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts. The hospital is recognized as an ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center with a robust heart and vascular program. Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery
• Provide non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality

Required Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Schedule

• PRN (as-needed) position
• No travel required
