Faculty Physician – Interventional Radiologist (Academic/Clinician Track)

The University of Minnesota Department of Radiology is seeking a full-time faculty member to join the section of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. This academic/clinician track position offers the opportunity to perform a comprehensive spectrum of interventional radiology procedures in a large academic medical center with a distinguished history of innovation in the field.

Responsibilities

• Perform the full spectrum of interventional radiology procedures including vascular access, biopsy, oncologic, hepatobiliary and portal interventions, transplant interventions, and dialysis procedures
• Provide treatment of pulmonary embolism including participation in an active PERT team
• Perform non-vascular procedures, venous interventions, peripheral arterial embolization (PAE), peripheral arterial disease (PAD) treatment, and women's interventions
• Conduct non-invasive imaging
• Teach medical students, IR/DR residents, and fellows at all levels within the large academic center
• Develop research and clinical interests in collaboration with the Department of Radiology and other clinical divisions

Clinical Setting

The Department of Radiology at the University of Minnesota is at the forefront of imaging and has consistently ranked in the top 20 for NIH-funded research over the past five years. The department is home to the Center for Magnetic Resonance Research, an internationally renowned center for ultrahigh field MRI. The department maintains a large, highly regarded ACGME-approved residency program and numerous fellowship programs. Faculty practice at affiliated locations under the University of Minnesota Health (M Health) shared care delivery system, a collaboration between University of Minnesota Physicians, University of Minnesota Medical Center, and Fairview Health Services.

Required Qualifications

• American Board of Radiology certification or eligibility
• Completed vascular/interventional radiology fellowship or IR/DR residency, preferably at fellow level
• Eligible for medical license in the state of Minnesota

Preferred Qualifications

• Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Vascular Interventional Radiology or IR/DR Certification

Academic Opportunities

Faculty members have dedicated academic time with opportunities to develop research and clinical interests. An interest in research is encouraged, and substantial departmental and institutional resources are available for research activities. However, research is not a requirement for this position.

Position Details

Both clinically focused and academic track applicants will be considered. Academic rank, compensation, and appointment type will be based on qualifications and experience. The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until filled.
