OU Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Adult Endoscopy department at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Edmond. This part-time position provides diagnostic and treatment procedures for digestive health conditions in a gastroenterology clinic and endoscopy laboratory setting.

This position may be filled as an RN 1, 2, or 3 depending on individual experience, education, and other qualifications.

Schedule

  • Part-time, 7am-3:30pm

Responsibilities

  • Align behaviors with OU Health values and maintain nursing professional practice standards
  • Assume responsibility for an assigned patient or group of patients
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting all changes in physician orders
  • Assist physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary
  • Administer medication as prescribed
  • Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
  • Deliver patient care safely and competently
  • Resolve patient complaints in a timely manner in accordance with policy and in collaboration with support staff
  • Inform patient and family of hospital procedures and share care plan during time of care and at discharge
  • Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
  • Seek mentorship, remain open to coaching and feedback, and maintain professional certification and licensure
  • Develop a professional career plan and establish personal performance goals in alignment with enterprise-wide metrics
  • Foster an inclusive workforce where individual differences are valued
  • Delegate tasks to clinical support staff as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Current Registered Nurse License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact Registered Nurse (eNLC)
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire

Experience Requirements

  • RN 1: 0-3 years of experience in patient care as a Registered Nurse
  • RN 2: 3-5 years of experience in patient care as a Registered Nurse
  • RN 3: 5 or more years of experience in patient care as a Registered Nurse; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required; Master's Degree in Nursing preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialty certification(s) (preferred for RN 2 and RN 3 levels)

  • Knowledge of basic professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
  • Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques
