Ally Psychiatry is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our outpatient behavioral health team in the Valleydale area of Birmingham, Alabama. This full-time position offers a Monday–Friday clinic schedule with light call coverage (approximately one weekend per month), strong physician collaboration, and excellent work-life balance within a clinician-led psychiatry practice.

Clinical Setting

You will work in an established outpatient psychiatry practice serving the Birmingham metro area. The practice features a collaborative team environment with psychiatrists, therapists, and clinical staff, along with direct supervision and support from experienced psychiatric physicians. The setting combines high patient demand with an established referral base and strong administrative, billing, and scheduling infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Perform psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
  • Provide medication management and ongoing outpatient psychiatric care
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for mental health conditions
  • Treat a broad range of adult psychiatric and behavioral health conditions
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
  • Participate in shared weekend call rotation (light coverage)

Required Qualifications

  • Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
  • Minimum of 1 year PMHNP experience practicing in Alabama
  • Active Alabama APRN license
  • Active DEA license at start date
  • Strong clinical judgment and medication management skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • Monday–Friday clinic schedule (no inpatient duties)
  • Light call rotation approximately one weekend per month
