This is a contract position for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at a healthcare facility in Templeton, CA. You will provide high-quality patient care during emergencies, performing rapid triage to prioritize patients by acuity and need. This role requires strong clinical decision-making, collaboration with physicians and allied health teams, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care as an ER Registered Nurse during emergencies
- Perform rapid triage to prioritize patients by acuity and need
- Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately in the EHR
- Administer medications and monitor for adverse reactions per protocol
- Ensure adherence to infection control and safety standards in all actions
- Collaborate with physicians and allied health teams to develop care plans
- Maintain situational awareness of patient status to ensure timely interventions
- Engage in continuous learning to stay current with evidence-based ER practices
- Meet defined performance targets and contribute to pipeline-based success metrics
- Document and communicate patient progress to the on-site team during shift handoffs
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges efficiently
- Participate in on-site drills and quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the applicable state or region
- Active ACLS certification
- PALS certification as applicable for ER settings
- Minimum 2 years of ER or acute care nursing experience
- Strong triage skills with ability to prioritize acuity quickly
- Infection control adherence and universal precautions
- Proficiency with EHR documentation and incident reporting
- Medication administration and monitoring per ER protocols
- Ability to collaborate with physicians, techs, and allied health staff
- Excellent communication for shift handoffs and patient progress updates
- Willingness to participate in drills, quality assurance initiatives, and continuous learning
Schedule and Compensation
- Contract position
- 48 hours per week
- 13-week contract
- $3,564 per 48-hour period
- On-site work location in Templeton, CA
