ER Registered Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment. You will provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency care in a fast-paced Emergency Department, utilizing the Epic Electronic Medical Record system for accurate documentation. You will assess, prioritize, and treat patients with a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Clinical Setting

This position is based in Marysville, CA, in an Emergency Department setting. You may be required to float to other appropriate units within your competency as needed by facility needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform rapid patient assessments and triage according to established emergency department protocols
• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients with medical, surgical, traumatic, and behavioral health emergencies
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and other treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies
• Monitor and reassess patient conditions, recognizing and responding to changes in clinical status
• Assist with emergency procedures including trauma resuscitations, cardiac emergencies, stroke alerts, and code situations
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, medications, and outcomes using the Epic EMR system
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards

Schedule

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Hours: 36-48 hours per week
• Shifts: 12-hour shifts
• Availability: Days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state or compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Experience using Epic EMR (required)
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous travel nursing experience
• TNCC certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience
• Experience caring for adult and pediatric emergency patients
• Familiarity with stroke, STEMI, and sepsis protocols
