We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment. You will provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency care in a fast-paced Emergency Department, assessing and treating patients with a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries. This role requires proficiency with the Epic Electronic Medical Record system for accurate documentation and collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a hospital Emergency Department providing care to adult and pediatric patients presenting with medical, surgical, traumatic, and behavioral health emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform rapid patient assessments and triage according to established emergency department protocols
  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients with medical, surgical, traumatic, and behavioral health emergencies
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and other treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies
  • Monitor and reassess patient conditions, recognizing and responding to changes in clinical status
  • Assist with emergency procedures including trauma resuscitations, cardiac emergencies, stroke alerts, and code situations
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, medications, and outcomes using the Epic EMR system
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards
  • Float to other appropriate units within competency when required by facility needs

Schedule

  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks
  • Hours: 36-48 hours per week
  • Shifts: 12-hour shifts (Days, Nights, Weekends, and Holidays as required)

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state or compact state
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
  • Experience using Epic EMR required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Preferred Qualifications
