This position provides emergency nursing care in a 16-bed small-format hospital setting with 8 dedicated emergency department beds. You will assess, plan, direct, and evaluate patient care while applying advanced clinical nursing knowledge and skills to ensure patient and family comfort and safety.
Clinical Setting
This is a newly opened Baylor Scott & White Hospital Alliance facility operated by Emerus, a leader in small-format hospitals. The emergency department is fully accredited and provides individualized, compassionate care to patients in the Fort Worth community.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prioritize, and provide proficient, age-specific and developmentally appropriate nursing care using advanced specialty clinical knowledge and skills
- Complete accurate, concise, and legible documentation on medical records
- Observe and record patient signs, symptoms, behaviors, and physiological status
- Present proposed revisions of interventions and desired outcomes
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records
- Follow physician orders in the delivery of nursing care
- Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies, procedures, COLA, and CLIA regulations
- Adhere to required infection control, isolation procedures, and aseptic techniques
- Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures
- Participate in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care
- Assemble equipment and supplies for diagnostic or treatment procedures; perform or assist with procedures and treatments in accordance with legal, hospital, departmental policies, and established standards of nursing care
- Perform assigned quality assessment activities and document results
- Attend staff meetings and company-sponsored or mandated meetings as required
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Schedule
- Swing Shift: 11am-11pm
- Full-time position
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions
- 2 or more years of full-time RN experience in the emergency department or comparable experience
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current PALS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Fluency in English with proficiency in written and oral communication
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification
Additional Requirements
Pennsylvania candidates must have Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance) and Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) completed within the last 5 years, or these must be obtained prior to the start date.
